globe is a country tracking app. We care about your privacy and keep data collection to a minimum. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is processed, and what rights you have over it.

All visitors: IP address, browser type, and pages visited (server logs).

Registered users: Email address, display name, and profile picture from your Google account, along with the countries and trips you log.

Why We Collect It

We collect data to provide and improve the service. This includes storing your trip history, displaying your public profile and globe, enabling account creation and management, and ensuring the security and proper functioning of the site. We do not collect any data beyon what is necessary for these purposes.

Who Processes Your Data

We rely on trusted third-party services to operate the site, including providers for database hosting, web hosting, and media storage. These providers only process your data as necessary to deliver the service on our behalf. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or any unrelated third parties.

Data Transfers

Some of our third-party providers are located outside the European Union, including in the United States. When your data is transferred outside the EU, these transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, ensuring your data receives an equivalent level of protection.

Data Retention

Anonymous accounts are deleted after 6 months of inactivity. Registered accounts are deleted 30 days after you request it. Server logs are kept for 12 months maximum.

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function. This includes a session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect the site's functionality.
